15th Century

Thomas Tyldesley

Thomas Tyldesley, who died on 21 October 1410 at Leicester, was one of the earliest members of Gray’s Inn. He left membership in 1403 on his appointment as Serjeant-at-Law to Henry IV. His arms appeared in one of the windows at Gray’s Inn and were recorded by Dugdale (see left) but the glass has since been lost. Thomas was the son of Thurstan Tyldesley and Margaret Workesley – daughter and co-heiress of Jordan Workesley, lord of Wardley.
